SOLLY & SALIM (27 mins)

Solly, who lives in a Jewish area of North London, takes his granddaughter for a walk in Golders Hill Park. There, by chance, he meets Salim, a Palestinian who’s written a history of Palestine. Salim asks Solly if he’d be willing to discuss the Arab-Israeli conflict.  “I would,” says Solly, “and I hope we’re both old enough to discuss it without losing our tempers.”

Their discussion about their histories reveals the huge gap between the memories of their two peoples – Israeli and Palestinian – when they look back on the causes of the continuing conflict.
